“I am loved, cared for, safe and don’t need to be afraid.” (Have child wrap the thumb with the four fingers to indicate the out of control amygdala as he’s saying this.)

“Mom is saying ‘X’ because she loves me.”

“I am a loving sister/brother because __(be specific as possible)__.”

“I am trusting / trustworthy because __(be specific as possible)__.”

“Mommy and Daddy keep you safe.”

“No matter what I think, no matter what I say, no matter what I do, Mama and Daddy will always love me.”

” I can trust God to order my steps.”

“We are Team <<insert last name>>. Mom and Dad are the coaches. The kids are players. We all work together and we always win together!”

“You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you NEED!” (sung to the tune of the Rolling Stones song.)

“Work hard, play hard”

“I always ask before I touch, before I touch, before I touch. I always ask before I touch and keep my hands to my body.” (sung to the tune of ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb.’)

“Families stick together.”

“Gentle touches.”

“Use my words.”

“No hurts. Stick together. Have fun!”

“I belong to God. God gave me to Dad and Mom for now and they will keep me safe!”

“I’m doing my best, and you’re doing your best.”

Do you have any more that are working for your child?
