The Cost of Adoption

Hurting with my child hurts. Being angry with him hurts as well…Moms, if you are here, I want you to know that I get it. I get your pain.

How to Raise a Moral, Responsible Child–without Punishment

But I can understand if you’re feeling a bit nervous right about now.  We all want to raise responsible, considerate, cooperative kids.  Won’t they just run wild without punishment?

The answer is no.  They will just run wild without guidance!

Controlling my inner “Bad Mommy”

Several weeks ago, during our bedtime ritual, Maddie told me quite matter of factly, “Mommy you did a good job today”.

To which I replied “Thank you sweetie, what do you mean?”

She responded “Bad mommy never got mad and yelled at me today”.

When your adopted Child Reject You

It was supposed to be easier, right?  You swooped in to pluck a child out of searing loss, and you knew it would be work, but this–this is different.  You thought the child would at least accept your hugs, want you.
