One Year Anniversary

God is calling me to love this child and continue to sacrifice and I have to fight daily, sometimes every hour to fight the feelings of hatred that stem from being hurt continually. Below is what I am saying out loud daily.

What’s Regulation Got to do With It? (Behavior)

Really smart scientists and therapists like Pat Ogden and Daniel Siegel talk a lot about the “window of tolerance.” I didn’t come up with it J When I explain regulation and the window of tolerance in my office, I draw something that looks like this on my white board.

Controlling my inner “Bad Mommy”

Although I won’t deny that this is partially motivated by my daughter’s comments, it also bears weight theoretically.  There is a large body of great research documenting the type of parenting that is associated with the most positive outcomes for children (and it is not “Bad Mommy’s” approach.   Here is your short theoretical history overview on Parenting Styles.
